Biggest Loser Marines

November 6th, 2010 | 1 Comment | Posted in Biggest Loser Show

After the elimination, Marines came in to the elimination room to take the contestants immediately to Camp Pendleton to train for the week. They slept in barracks, got up before teh sun to train all day long, and ate in the mess hall. Everything was regimented, and everything was done as a team.

Obstacle Course Challenge

The Blue team decided to each carry the 30 lbs, and got off to a good start. The black team decided to have each woman give 10 lbs to each guy so the guys carried 40 lbs each and the girls carried 20 lbs each. This switch took time and put them behind. Then just as the black team started catching up, Elizabeth dropped, and allowed the blue team to win the challenge. Elizabeth finally got up and continued and finished the challenge with her team.

The Ultimate 1 LB Each Week Pass!

October 12th, 2010 | 1 Comment | Posted in Biggest Loser Show

This week there is a dreaded red line, where the person with the lowest percentage of body weight automatically falls below the red line and is instantly eliminated.

1 Lb Every Week Pass

But, there is also the biggest prize in Biggest Loser history – a one pound pass that grows by one pound for each week they hold on to it. In order to find this pass, they need to look under cupcakes. If they take a cupcake, they must eat it. If the pass is not underneath the cupcake, there will be a clue to where the cupcake pass is.

Rick, Jesse, Elizabeth, and Adam all played. The rest of the contestants watched and stayed out of it. Adam found the pass but ate 1350 calories in cupcakes to get it. Elizabeth was crying because she feels that she’s going to fall below the red line, since she’s been at the bottom of the board each weigh-in.

100 Calorie Cupcakes

Then Chef Curtis Stone came on to show everyone how to make a 100 calorie cupcake. He used egg whites instead of eggs, honey instead of sugar, and wheat flour instead of white flour. He made the frosting with raspberry puree.

Weigh In

Adam chose not to use his pass.

The Yellow Line Has Moved!

September 28th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Biggest Loser Show

Last week we saw the 12 contestants who earned their way onto the Biggest Loser ranch. But at the beginning of this week we saw two new contestants that were chosen by Bob and Jillian, from the 7 people who didn’t make it in the challenges – Aaron and Elizabeth.

Everyone got their first workout. It was brutal, as usual. People were passing out, throwing up, and screaming.

The contestants all met with Dr. H to learn about their test results. Some learned they had diabetes, heart disease, their body fat percentages, and they inner age.

Weigh In

They met Bob and Jillian in the kitchen and learned about healthy eating, whole foods, and what calories are.
This weigh in is taking place 2 weeks after the last weigh in in their home towns. And the yellow line moved up so that half of them will be below the yellow line.

That means 8 players will be in danger of elimination.

Because Rick was the Biggest Loser, he gets to save one person that is below the Yellow line. And, the rest of the people below the yellow line get to compete to save themselves.

The Elimination Challenge

At the elimination challenge Rick revealed his choice to save Patrick, since he was the only man below the yellow line.

The challenge was a foot race. The first person to grab the flag is safe from elimination. Then they run again until they have only two people left. Tina and Allie were the only two who did not get the flag. They are up for elimination and their fate will be decided upon by the 8 people above the yellow line. Its the oldest contestant up against the youngest.

Allie was voted out and left the campus immediately. Before she got home she asked her mom to take all the chocolate out of the house, but when she arrived home it was on the counter. She got no support from her mom, so she reached out to her Biggest Loser family. Danny from season 8 helped her out and got her going in the right direction. In total, Allie has lost 60 lbs.

The Biggest Loser is Back in Season 10

September 22nd, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Biggest Loser Show

Season 10 of The Biggest Loser was kicked off in 6 cities around the country to choose the 12 contestants. These are not the biggest or the sickest contestants, but rather, the contestants who want it the most.

Prior Biggest Loser contestants joined Jillian and Bob in these cities from Los Angeles to Boston. They had 3 people pre-selected from each city and had all three weigh in and compete to go to the ranch. The top 2 finishers would be guaranteed a spot on the ranch, while the third would have to face their weight loss struggle at home.

There were two types of challenges – 500 steps or 1 mile race. Here are the contestants in LA:

And, in Boston:

This season’s theme is “Pay it Forward”, so we’ll probably see more and more of the previous contestants helping the newcomers.

Here’s Bob in Portland:
